Attendance and punctuality
The Sycamore emphasizes the importance of students’ attendance and punctuality for both online and in-person classes as essential for academic success.
- Students’ attendance on both scheduled online Zoom meetings and physical classes are critical to academic development and completion of courses.
- Students are expected to arrive promptly for all classes, scheduled meetings, and events, whether it be through online classes or in-person classes. Everyone is given a minimum of 20 minutes in between classes to prepare.
- All subject teachers monitor the punctuality of the students for all their classes.
- For further details on center's policies regarding attendance, see Section II-A Article 1.a-b. of the Hybrid Learning Handbook, ver. 2023.
Daily Routines and Schedules
The Sycamore’s primary students have in-person classes Monday to Thursday, online TLE classes, and independent work with teacher consultations on Fridays.
- In the hybrid learning setting, since it requires students to prepare for both online and in-person classes, students are required to follow a strict schedule in order to effectively establish a routine.
- For Primary students, Mondays to Thursdays are scheduled for in-person learning. Major subjects are given an hour and a half each. Minor subjects are given an hour each. TLE classes are conducted online with the students remaining in their respective classrooms.
- Fridays are scheduled for independent work. Students may communicate with their subject teachers within official hours (see section below) and may also set appointments with their teachers for consultations via Zoom.
